Consequence of Synthetic Bone Substitute used for Alveolar Cleft Graft Reconstruction (Clinical Study)

Objectives: Highlight the outcome of alveolar grafting with synthetic bone substitute (Osteon III) only in various defect volumes. Material and Method: Prospective study accomplished on 55 patients (6-13 years aged) unilateral cleft. Osteon III, consisting hydroxyapatite (HA) tricalcium phosphate (TCP) used to reconstruct defect. Alveolus diameter calculated before surgery (V1), after 3 months (V2) lastly 6 (V3) post-surgery. T-Test significant difference correlation between V1, V2 V2, V3 are stated. P value ≤ 0.01 considered parameters. Result Degree cleft divided small (9 cases), medium (20 patients) large (26 cases). Bone volume clefted site three steps: 1: (mean 18.1091mm). Step 2: After 2 resemble amount unhealed 0.5109mm) final assessment (22.5455mm). Both show statistical differences formation. Conclusion: Alloplastic also can be as graft material because unlimited retrieval. III alveolus smoothly promising.
